How to learn Nunchucks (Nunchaku), an art of it's own, on your own
69Introduction
"If you have Never smacked yourself with a pair of nunchaku than you're probably not that good!" Some may laugh at the thought of this and may even think the opposite, but as with all martial Arts and it's practices; when you first get started you're coming out with some bumps and bruises. In my experience in the Martial Arts I'd say It's Inevitable, but don't let that discourage you. The benefits of this "weapon" is worth a few bumps and bruises. This article and its videos will help you on how to Learn Nunchakus on your own (For the beginner Student I Recommend foam padded nun-chuks to reduce the chances of Serious injury.) Always be mindful that they are not a toy, they are a weapon and should be respected like a weapon, at the same time; dismiss the fact that it is a weapon and look at it as a tool. A tool for increasing accuracy, timing, speed, endurance, memory, balance and even patience.Known as 'tahn do li ga' in Korean Martial Art systems and nunchaku in Japanese Martial Art systems.
A pair of nunchakus can be be purchased for as little as $10.00, with today's Internet world they shouldn't be hard to find. How to DVDs can be expensive, but you may find some discount DVDs, or you can watch how to videos for free via the Internet. If the heads or chains of your nunchakus happen to break, don't discard them and run out to buy another pair. Repair kits and heads are cheaper than new chuks. I recommend Waiting till you are an advanced practitioner before moving on to double nunchucks (nunchaku). It's a good Idea to learn techniques on both sides (Left and Right) before moving on to the next technique, this way you are balanced and will be better prepared for double nunchaku. This Article will guide you on how to learn nunchuks (nunchaku) from beginer to advanced, and double nunchaku.
REMEMBER SAFETY FIRST
Better if practiced outside and not to close to other people unless experienced. Garage or basement is also a fine practice area. Probably not a good Idea to do it in front of the TV or computer, not at first. Watch Parts of the DVD or video than return to your practise area, you can avoid all of that by starting with foam chuks, but still be carefull, if it has chains they can still break things

Double Nunchaku
History
The first Nunchaku's were two sticks bound by the ends with horse hair. It was a farming tool used to shuk rice. In Korea as the story go's, nun-chuks were used as weapons because the people were left difenceless as all weapons were outlawed, farming tools were used to take the place of more traditional weapons such as Swords and Knives. Other weapons such as Kamas, the cane , and the staff have the same history, as they all had a purpose other than being a weapon.
